This 5.56x45mm ammo is manufactured for Federal at the famed Lake City Army Ammunition Plant where the majority of the small caliber ammo is made to supply US troops. This reloadable, brass-cased ammo is topped with a 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail projectile designed for easy feeding, reliable accuracy, and solid aerodynamics due to the bullet's boat tail profile.

This new production ammo at first appears to be old with the dark coloring around the neck of the cartridge case but this is simply part of the visual inspection process that the Lake City production lines comply with for military inspectors who want to ensure that the cases have gone through the final annealing process which ensures that the cases aren't brittle. Commercial ammo goes through this same process and then goes through a final wash that is purely cosmetic but this ammo skips that step to comply with visual inspection requirements.

This ammo is non-corrosive and is not attracted to a magnet and is ideally suited for high volume shooting through your AR-15.
