- 1000 Rounds of 5.56x45 Ammo by PMC - 62gr FMJ M855
Details
Loaded to NATO’s M855 specifications, this “green tip” ammunition uses 62-grain steel-cored full metal jacket bullets for high
penetration. The heavier bullets result in a muzzle velocity of about 2,920 fps, slightly lower than M193 ball. This case holds 1,000 cartridges in 20-round boxes.
All of this ammunition uses Boxer-primers with reloadable brass cases. It is 5.56x45 NATO ammo, so make sure that your firearm isn't only chambered for 223 Rem before firing it.
Due to its steel core, this ammunition should not be used on reactive steel targets for safety reasons.

The PMC M855 round has been a great product. I've shoot 2,000rds through my Daniel Defense DDM4V7 with zero malfunctions. Accurate, Reliable, and Cheap are all the qualities that I'm looking for in my ammo. I just bought 2,000 more rounds from BulkAmmo and they were by far the best deal the I could find. While I think this is very good ammo, in my particular instance it did not shoot as accurately as I had hoped. I am using this in my DPMS 3gun and I found this ammo to leave my gun much dirtier than the Fiocchi 223 ammo I purchased here.
My grouping were much wider at 100 & 200 yrds than with the 50 & 55grain 223 Fiocchi FMJ & Vmax.
Maybe my gun prefers the lighter rounds......I'll try again in spring as I still have 500 rounds to go. (Posted on 2/7/2015)

I've probably shot 2500 rounds of this through 2 different AR's I've built an 18" all match grade parts an a 14.7" with a Rainier Arms barrel this ammo performs very well out of both rifles with the 18" match rifle I'm shooting 1/2" groups at 100 yards and beyond about 3/4" from the 14.7" rifle. This ammo is outstanding on medium an large feral hogs even shoulder shots they don't run very far. An the most important thing to me is I've never had a FTF an this ammo isn't dirty like surplus 62 grain green tips. I noticed it isn't head stamped made in the USA but I don't care it's accurate, clean an easy on the pocket book. Highly recommend an I will be purchasing many cases from Bulk Ammo. Shot a few hundred rounds in a brand new Core 15 M4. The ammo performed flawlessly and the 62 grain projectiles were very accurate in my 7:1 twist barrel. Not a complaint really as much as a weird observation, they give off a strong ammonia odor when fired. No idea why that is but expect it. (Posted on 7/30/2013)

The XM855 rounds are very reliable. My Colt M4 and Daniels Defense V4 both perform flawlessly with this ammo. Both rifles appear to prefer the 5.56 ammo to .223. The price of the ammo has certainly increased since all of the hullabaloo regarding "assault rifles" and "high capacity magazines" started. Perhaps prices will reduce somewhat once the attempt to ban "assault rifles" flickers out? Lets hope so! (Posted on 3/22/2013)
