Details
Remington manufactures Golden Saber ammo to match-grade
tolerances for maximum accuracy and reliability in self-defense situations. The
Golden Saber jacketed hollow point features a spiral-cut pattern that produces
the classic mushroom expansion profile with unerring reliability. This particular
loading of the Golden Saber comes in the renowned .45 ACP cartridge, suitable
for use in the 1911, Glock 21, and a variety of other popular firearms. Each
box of Golden Saber ammo contains 25 cartridges cased in fresh, reloadable nickel-plated
brass.
This .45 ACP Golden Saber ammo is a +P loading, giving it considerable added velocity and mitigating the traditional disadvantages of the .45 ACP such as relatively low velocity and modest penetration. However, some firearms may not be able to fire the high-pressure rounds safely. Shooters should check with the manufacturer of their particular firearm if they have doubts about its ability to fire +P ammunition.
Remington is the only American company that makes both guns and ammo. Formerly based in upstate New York, the company has moved several times since its founding in 1816 and currently operates from a headquarters in North Carolina as well as factories in New York, Arkansas, and Kentucky. Although most renowned for its venerable line of rifles and shotguns, Remington has found significant success in the self-defense market with its Golden Saber rounds.
Remington has had a varied corporate history, and has diversified into multiple product segments including typewriters. The typewriter division was spun off in 1927 but returned to the arms industry during World War II, resulting in the Remington Rand 1911 pistol. Today, the parent company’s most notable offering in .45 ACP is the Remington 1911 R1, introduced in 2010 and offered in a variety of models ranging from classic GI style to heavily modernized carry pistol.
