Details
This .45 ACP ammo is a perfect range round for your Glock 21,
1911, or Springfield XDM. It uses a 230 grain bimetal FMJ bullet and achieves a
muzzle velocity of 886, enough to maintain good accuracy at pistol ranges while
producing relatively gentle recoil. The reduced kick is great for high-volume
shooting or acclimating to the .45 ACP cartridge. Each box holds 50 boxes of
ammunition in nonreloadable zinc-plated steel cases. The Berdan primers are
non-corrosive. Due to the bimetallic jacket, these bullets have magnetic
properties and may not be suitable for use at all indoor ranges.
Silver Bear ammo is produced at the Barnaul Machine Plant in Russia. Formerly located in St. Petersburg and Moscow, the plant moved to Barnaul during World War II to escape the advancing Wehrmacht and has remained there ever since. In its various incarnations, the plant has provided ammunition for Russian soldiers for over 150 years. During World War II, it produced half of the Soviet army's cartridges and won several prestigious awards. In 2003, Barnaul converted to a closed joint stock company, somewhat analogous to an American S-corporation. Today, the company produces both military and sporting ammo as well as target devices and other shooting products.
