This ammunition is a dedicated play on design minimalism and made to offer the cheapest shooting ammunition for the .40 S&W. The heavy 180 grain FMJ (clad in a zinc to help reduce fouling) offers a good sized slug on target and keeps the recoil to more of a roll than a snap. The primary purpose for this ammunition is for target shooting and plinking.
This is a ridiculously low priced load for .40 Smith & Wesson, and it’s going to be about as budget-friendly as you can find. But that doesn’t mean you can’t trust the TULAMMO pistol line – there are a ton of shooters who love this stuff and rely upon it for their training needs. We suggest using this 40 SW ammo in a carbine or a polymer full sized frame to yield the best results, but the reliability is good, it’s just not a material that is perfectly mated to all firearms (zinc and steel).
919 feet per second of muzzle velocity is respectable and offers good functionality in the extraction/ejection part of the shooting cycle. This load is good for stocking on a shelf for times when you need bulk ammunition. It is also great for high powered springs in full sized firearms and for weapons which use aggressive extraction for the spent casings, including carbines.
