Details

A very nice practice round or for those who need more lead on target like beginner shotgunners or veterans who aren’t as quick as they once were. This is a nice, moderately heavy target load with the lower shot size and the denser patterns than standard target loads. The 1 1/8 ounce of shot payload paired with the 1145 feet per second velocity of the 2 ¾” shell makes this perfect for those who just need a bit more on target performance. The additional cup weight and the small shot size combine for a moderately recoiling, but very dense on target load that can easily put you back into a winning position compared to the other cheaper target loads. The standard low base shell can in fact be reloaded, but the cost per shot is low enough hat it probably makes sense to just leave them on the ground.

Federal has been aggressively challenging Winchester for the lowest price on these heavy target loads for the better part of a decade and is starting to really make some headway because shooters are realizing the uncompromising quality control standards and the very reasonable price points. It puts the two brands neck and neck and you could easily make the argument for this load for any type of normal day to day range work with your 12 gauge.
